Our purpose

We publish practical station information and explanations that help EV drivers make better charging decisions. Content should distinguish source data, calculation, interpretation, and uncertainty.

Source standards

Station records are normalized from the National Laboratory of the Rockies Alternative Fuel Stations API. Articles prioritize primary and authoritative sources such as federal agencies, national laboratories, standards organizations, peer-reviewed research, and original technical documentation. Commercial sources may be used for product-specific details and are identified as such.

Data normalization

We request active, publicly accessible U.S. EV stations. Source connector codes are translated into driver-facing names. Maximum power is derived from reported port-level information and omitted when it is not available. We do not invent live availability, reviews, or precision absent from the source.

Rankings

City and network rankings are calculated from the imported dataset. “Standout” station ordering uses disclosed factors including reported power, DC fast plug count, connector choice, access hours, and amenities. These are infrastructure comparisons, not user-satisfaction scores or guarantees of quality.

Calculators

Tools show their editable inputs and explain their formulas and limitations. Defaults are examples or attributed public benchmarks, not individualized predictions. Results should be checked against vehicle documentation, actual utility or network prices, and trip conditions.

Articles, images, and updates

Editorial guides are researched against linked sources and display review dates. Pexels photographs are downloaded, uniquely assigned, resized, converted to WebP, and credited to their photographers even though the Pexels license does not require attribution. We review time-sensitive statements when source data changes and correct substantive errors transparently.

Independence and corrections

Charging networks and depicted brands do not sponsor listings unless a relationship is explicitly disclosed. To report a factual issue, email editorial@usevchargingstations.com with the page URL and supporting source.
